FP 1276 High Flow Type Fire Sprinkler Tank Float Valve Kit is suitable for sprinkler tanks with or without raised chambers and is comprised of an in-line Control Valve together with an FB Type valve sized 1″ (25mm) acting as a pilot. The pilot valve offers adjustable opening and closing water level settings, making this ideal for fire sprinkler systems where the top water level is often quite a distance below the centre line of the inlet. This solution delivers an array of practical benefits, as follows:
Raised Valve Chamber – Can be small because it only has to accommodate a 1″ (25mm) FB Type float valve and discharge assembly.
Facilitates Air Gaps – The FB Type float valve is supplied with an adjustable chain as standard allowing the closing level to be set below any combination of weir slot, overflow and/or warning device.
Quiet Operation – FB Type float valves are quieter than conventional valves due to the elimination of water hammer, valve bounce, “hiss” and dribble.
Accessibility – An externally mounted Control Valve can be easily inspected, adjusted and, if required, serviced. Re-chlorination of the tank is not necessary provided the tank lid is not removed.
Shallow Tanks – FB Type valves can operate in tanks as shallow as 1 metre in depth.
Deep Tanks – FB Type pilot valve enables an opening level 2 metres below the inlet level.
Flexibility and Ease of Installation – Conventional float valves above 3” are heavy and cumbersome, often necessitating a two person installation. When the FP Type in-line Control Valve is mounted outside the tank at floor level, no heavy lifting is required. The Control Valve can be mounted in one of four positions:

The valves are easy to install with an ‘up and over’ discharge arrangement which assists in facilitating Type AA, AB, AF, or AG air gap requirements under the Water Regulations.

Principle of Operation
The FP Float Valve maintains the water level in a storage tank to the desired level. The pilot for the Control Valve is an FB Type Float Valve which enables a wide range of opening and closing levels to be set.
Opening – When the water level in the tank drops to the desired level, the FB Pilot Valve opens, relieving the pressure in the Pilot Line causing the Control Valve to open.
Closing – When the water level rises to the desired closing level, the FB Pilot Valve closes, causing the Control Valve to close smoothly.

To register and qualify for Extended Warranty cover, a photograph of the Keraflo Installation Label (included with the product and affixed to the Cold Water Storage Tank) with all installation and commissioning checklist activities completed should be sent via email to info@keraflo.co.uk.
The Keraflo Installation Label affixed to the Cold Water Storage Tank should be signed and dated with the installer’s name and the following details also provided to enable warranty registration: Keraflo product serial number, installation date and tank installation address/location.
